About Woody Lowder
A native Texan, Woody grew up skiing in Colorado, but it wasn’t until his college years in Boulder where he fell in love with the backcountry. Since then he has skied steep descents in Montana, Alaska, British Columbia, and Chamonix, France, but the Tetons are where Woody has spent the past eight winters honing in on his passion for ski mountaineering. When there’s no more snow to be skied, Woody spends the summer months perfecting his rope skills while summiting some of the Tetons’ highest peaks. Woody is excited to have joined the JHMG team to be able to pass on his appreciation for the mountains through guiding and teaching while continuing to work towards full IFMGA/AMGA certification. Whether you’re looking for powder laps on the pass or skiing the Grand Teton, Woody is up for any kind of adventure that will help you realize all that you are capable of. Woody is the Director of our Colorado Branch.
