Ellie Grimes

Sinking her hands into sandstone cracks has become a mantra for Ellie (she/her), with Moab, UT being her home base. Being a desert lizard now is a bit of a far stretch from her upbringing as a swimmer from Kentucky, and her previous career in research in Washington DC. She was drawn out West by the culture and lifestyle of climbing, where she developed an endless love for spending days outside. Ever since touching Navajo Sandstone for the first time, she has spent as much time as possible in Zion, Moab, Red Rock Canyon, and anywhere else she can spend the day in a sea of red rock. When she's not guiding, she's either working as an EMT on the local ambulance or soaking up the sun on the rock, trails, or on her bike. 

Ellie is psyched on teaching, mentoring, and curating memorable experiences outside, whether that is standing on the summit of a desert tower, exploring a canyon, or learning and practicing fundamentals for your next adventure. The outdoors offers her inspiration and admiration, and Ellie feels lucky to be able to share that with others.
