Matthew Koenig

An east coast transplant, Matthew first started climbing in high school while working on a trail crew in Grand Teton National Park. Since his start in the Tetons, he has climbed extensively throughout North America and has ventured to the windy peaks of Patagonia and the high Andes. Matthew enjoys all forms of climbing from laidback sport cragging to long alpine objectives in remote ranges. With a background in teaching, he loves guiding for the ability to help others achieve their goals as well as getting to know so many unique characters. Matthew is an AMGA Certified Rock Guide and Assistant Alpine Guide. Additionally, he has a Wilderness First Responder certification.
