About Nik Mirhashemi

Nik grew up in southwest Colorado sandwiched between the rugged San Juan Mountains and the vast canyon country of the Colorado Plateau. While going to school in Boulder, CO he picked up rock and ice climbing and started leading university trips into the mountains. Nik has climbed, skied and guided extensively throughout the western US as well as Alaska and many places abroad. He loves sharing his passion for the mountains and desert with others and teaching them the skills to be safe and successful in the wilderness. He now splits his time between summers guiding in Alaska, the Pacific Northwest and Jackson Hole, fall and spring in the Utah desert and winters in the Wasatch. When not guiding, Nik enjoys combing the desert for unclimbed cracks, visiting the great ranges of the world and spending time with all the interesting characters he has met along the way.

  • Wow! What can I say? Thank you! I never thought I’d climb again and you guys gave me the confidence and encouragement to do it again. Today’s hike was long, but the view well worth it. Thanks for sharing a part of your life with me. Thanks again.

  • Climbing The Grand with JHMG was one of the most incredible experiences in my already rich life.  I came into the trip a bit apprehensive about the climbing and exposure, but the training and guides not only made me feel safe and confident, they also taught me skills to improve future climbing experiences.  I expected crazy beautiful views and fun times and you guys delivered both along with an unexpected level of service, coaching, and camaraderie.  Keep up the great work and we’ll see you on future climbing and mountaineering trips.
