About Matt Raymond

Growing up in New England Matt spent his summers sailing and winters ski racing but while getting his degree from Hampshire College in Massachusetts he fell in love with rock climbing, ice climbing and whitewater kayaking. After graduating he moved to the front range to make use of his degree and worked as an engineer for several years but always spent his free time pursing his first passion, taking his friends into the mountains. From the small local crag down the street or traveling to Patagonia. Now part of the guide community Matt focuses on conscious progression and loves training people from their first time climbing to the thousandth time. He particularly enjoys helping people progress in their movement ability, mountain mindset and technical systems. Whether you’re looking to run laps on the classics or go climb a first ascent in the Black Canyon its always an adventure!

Testimonials

  • Matt was an awesome guide. Very friendly and professional. He prepared the trip very well and explained what to expect. He adjusted the pace perfectly for me since I was a first timer in high altitude hiking. I will definitely come back in future.

  • Matt was an excellent guide. Chose an objective which was challenging yet reasonable based on my experience. He made the day fun, relaxed and enjoyable. Awesome experience!
