About Mark Postle
Mark our Head Guide here at JHMG has been instructing and guiding for us in Jackson since 2003. He most commonly splits his guiding year between ascents of Aconcagua during the Argentine summer, at AMS in Talkeetna, Alaska as a senior guide on Denali, and here in the Tetons. He has also travelled and climbed extensively in Europe and in Patagonia and made several expeditions to the Himalaya successfully ascending both Lhotse (8,516 meters) and Ama Dablam in Nepal. Mark holds a B.S. degree with honors in organic chemistry. He enjoys pursuing all aspects of the sport from bouldering to expedition climbing on the great high altitude peaks of the world. An avid technical climber, Mark has climbed over fifty 5.13’s, including the Smith Rock test piece, White Wedding (5.14a). What he loves the most about guiding in the Tetons and Winds is showing guests of all backgrounds and experience levels the skills they need to achieve their goals in rugged technical terrain. People who climb with Mark, love his straightforward and fair approach, and his great sense of humor.
