About Joe Lee
Joe visited Moab and loved the place so much he stayed. His guests consistently describe him as being professional, knowledgeable, capable, detail-oriented, encouraging, fun, and low-key. Guests report that Joe has a knack for reading energy and making them feel at ease. In addition to rock guiding in Moab, Joe works for Grand County Search and Rescue (Moab area SAR) and Arches and Canyonlands National Parks Search and Rescue. Joe has played key roles in numerous rescues including many technical rope rescues. Joe’s SAR training and experience along with his guide training informs his judgment, which he applies to guiding.
Joe draws on his varied life experience to provide a quality guided experience. Joe has climbed extensively in North America including at the Bugaboos, Squamish, Index, Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Red Rock, Tetons, Eldo, RMNP, Lumpy, Cochise, Devils Tower, the Gunks, and El Potrero Chico. Joe has worked as a Backcountry National Park Ranger, a custom van builder for a company he started, an attorney at a nationally recognized law firm, and a mechanical engineer.
