About Blase Reardon

Growing up, Blase explored the creeks, river and woods of Ohio, top-roped with a goldline rope and tennis shoes, and learned to ski on golf courses at night. His exploring and skiing have since led him to the whitewater of the Appalachia, the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, and graduate studies in creative writing and glaciology. He has published technical and scientific articles on snow science and glaciology, edited The Avalanche Review and The Snowy Torrents, and made first ascents of ice climbs in Glacier National Park. Blase skis in the daylight now – mostly – and prefers pointy alpine peaks to flat golf courses. He currently works as Director of the Flathead Avalanche Center. As a guide, Blase relishes helping people find their way deeper into the mountains. He is an AMGA Apprentice Alpine Guide and has guided peaks and climbs in Colorado, Tanzania, and Bolivia.
