About Andrew Megas-Russell

Andrew is an American Mountain Guides Association certified Rock Guide and AMGA SPI Program Provider based in the Front Range of Colorado. Climbing has been his passion for decades and sharing his passion with others is his pursuit. He has dedicated over 15 years of his life to working in the outdoor education and guiding industry. Ten of these years were spent working expedition style programs for NOLS where he accrued over one thousand days in the field with all of those days spent sleeping on the ground.

Andrew currently serves as the AMGA Climbing Instructor Program Manager and prides himself in managing the Single Pitch and Climbing Wall Instructor Programs. “I believe in the power of outdoor experiences and what they can provide for people in today’s modern age. The overabundance of screen time can distract us from lived experiences that impact our self-worth and well-being. I start by listening to my client’s goals and ambitions to develop custom climbing experiences that will help them achieve their true potential. Whether you are a first time climber or seasoned veteran, I welcome the opportunity to work together.”

Testimonials

  • My experience with JHMG was top notch. My guide Andrew provided a memorable experience up the Culp Bossier route. He was knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor and motivating. Furthermore, he took the time to provide tech tips as we climbed to further progress my climbing ability. I can't wait to climb with Andrew in the future.
