About Chris Martin
Chris Martin has been exploring since the day skis landed on his feet. As an inlet to adventure, skiing grew the seed. The pursuit of mountain sports has inspired him to travel, skiing and climbing mountains from South America to Alaska and guiding throughout the same. Chris has gained experience in rescue, working with the National Park Service, search and rescue on Denali for several seasons. Knowing the reality of life in the mountains has allowed Chris to understand the necessity of humility, driving a lifelong passion to teach risk assessment and calculated mountain travel. He Currently lives in Crested Butte, CO and works full time for Irwin Guides. He visits every year to guide in the Tetons. Chris is largely inspired by education and is pursuing certifications through the American Mountain Guides Association. Chris holds a Pro Level 2 avalanche certification and is a level 1 and 2 AIARE course Leader and is on his way to being a fully certified IFMGA Mountain Guide.
