A Letter from the Office August 2023
August 11, 2023 | Posted in: JHMG
It has already been a busy summer in the Tetons. We had a relatively wet June and are just getting through another phase of weather up high. Though crampons returned to people’s kits for a few days, we are already back to approach shoes.
So far this season, feedback for the guides and the office has been stellar. Thank you for the kinds word. I appreciate the feeling of team play we enjoy.
High camp is in full swing until September 19. Other backcountry adventures like Gannet and Granite Peaks, Moran, and Buck Mountain have also been well attended. Now is the time to consider climbing in the Red Rock, the Front Range, or Moab in the fall.

As most of you know, we lost Aimee Barnes to her battle with cancer on June 19. Many of you spent time with Aimee in the mountains, at the crags, and on skis. There will be a memorial at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort on September 18. Please consider coming. So the family and the resort can keep track of anticipated numbers, please rsvp here.
One of Aimee’s great contributions to The Mountain Guides was the creation and management of The Women’s Network. We are hiring a manager for that program and already have dedicated and interested candidates.
I hope this finds you enjoying a wonderful summer.
