About Matt Shove
Matt is from Connecticut where he resides in the greater Hartford area with his wife Stacy and children Riley and Ryan. He grew up climbing on the Traprock Cliffs. Matt guides the rest of the year in the Northeast including Connecticut’s Ragged Mountain, the Gunks, New Hampshire’s Mt Washington Valley, and the Adirondacks. Matt has had many trips to Alaska, Red Rocks, Joshua Tree, Yosemite, City of Rocks, North Cascades, and a few laps on Mt. Rainier. Other technical experiences include teaching rope rescue techniques to mountain rescue personnel, firefighters, and military personnel.
Matt has developed a passion for teaching mountain skills to guests to help them become functioning members of the climbing team. He enjoys building a series of logical progressions for his guests that provide the appropriate level of learning with graduated challenges.
