Wyoming Adventure Guides — Climbing, Skiing & Mountaineering Since 1968
Wyoming’s Most Experienced Mountain Guides
Wyoming is where it all started. The Mountain Guides (formerly Jackson Hole Mountain Guides) have been leading climbing, mountaineering, and backcountry skiing adventures across Wyoming since 1968 — making us one of the oldest and most experienced guide services in the American West. From our headquarters in Jackson Hole, we guide year-round programs in Grand Teton National Park, the Wind River Range, and the Beartooth Wilderness. As an AMGA-accredited guide service and authorized National Park Service concessioner, we bring professional instruction, deep local knowledge, and nearly six decades of mountain experience to every trip.
Rock Climbing & Mountaineering in Wyoming
Grand Teton Climbs: Summit the iconic Grand Teton (13,776’) on a four-day guided expedition from our Corbet High Camp. No prior climbing experience required. The Grand Teton is the most popular guided mountaineering objective in Wyoming and fills early — plan ahead.
Single-Day Teton Rock Climbs: Classic alpine rock routes on Symmetry Spire, Disappointment Peak, Irene’s Arete, and the Cathedral Traverse in Grand Teton National Park. Half-day and full-day options for intermediate to advanced climbers.
Mt. Moran Summit Experience: Approach by canoe across Jackson Lake and climb one of the most striking peaks in the Tetons via the Skillet Glacier or CMC route. A unique wilderness mountaineering experience.
Gannett Peak Expedition: Wyoming’s highest summit (13,804’) deep in the Wind River Range. A multi-day wilderness expedition combining long approaches, glacier travel, and alpine climbing.
Wind River Range Rock Climbing: Remote backcountry rock climbing in the Cirque of the Towers — Pingora, Wolfs Head, and other classic alpine routes in one of Wyoming’s most spectacular mountain settings.
Backcountry Skiing & Avalanche Education in Wyoming
The Tetons are world-renowned for deep, consistent snowfall and exceptional backcountry terrain. Our Wyoming skiing programs include private backcountry ski and splitboard tours on Teton Pass and in Grand Teton National Park, multi-day Teton Ski Mountaineering Camps for advanced skiers, and Backcountry Essentials clinics for resort skiers making the transition. We’re also an authorized AIARE course provider in Jackson Hole, offering Level 1, Level 2, Companion Rescue, and Women’s avalanche courses with field days in real Teton avalanche terrain.
Women’s Programs & Family Adventures
The Mountain Guides offer dedicated women’s programs in Wyoming, including Women’s AIARE Avalanche Courses and Women’s Backcountry Touring Weekends, both taught by experienced female instructors. For families, our Kids Rock! program introduces children ages 5 and up to rock climbing in a fun, safe environment near Jackson Hole. Many of our single-day climbing and backcountry skiing programs are also excellent for families with older children.
