Jackson Hole Guides — Climbing, Skiing & Mountain Adventures Since 1968
Your Jackson Hole Adventure Guides
Jackson Hole is where The Mountain Guides were born. Since 1968, we’ve been leading rock climbing, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, and avalanche education programs out of our headquarters near downtown Jackson. As the only AMGA-accredited guide service in Jackson Hole and an authorized concessioner of Grand Teton National Park, we offer the widest range of guided mountain adventures in the valley — from single-day rock climbs and family programs to multi-day mountaineering expeditions and professional avalanche education courses. Whatever the season, whatever your experience level, The Mountain Guides has a Jackson Hole adventure for you.
Summer Adventures in Jackson Hole & Grand Teton National Park
Grand Teton Climbs: Summit the Grand Teton (13,776’) on our flagship four-day expedition from Corbet High Camp. No prior climbing experience required. This is the most popular guided mountaineering trip in Jackson Hole — book early.
Single-Day Teton Rock Climbing: Classic alpine routes on Symmetry Spire, Disappointment Peak, Irene’s Arete, and the Cathedral Traverse in Grand Teton National Park. Half-day and full-day options for all levels.
Mt. Moran & Alpine Summits: Approach by canoe to climb Mt. Moran, or tackle overnight alpine summits throughout the Teton Range. Multi-day mountaineering adventures for those seeking bigger objectives.
Kids Rock!: An introduction to rock climbing designed for children ages 5 and up. A fun, safe, and engaging summer activity for families visiting Jackson Hole.
Winter Adventures: Backcountry Skiing & Avalanche Education
Backcountry Skiing & Splitboarding: Private guided tours on Teton Pass and in Grand Teton National Park, plus multi-day Teton Ski Mountaineering Camps for advanced skiers. Our guides know where to find the best snow every day of the season.
Backcountry Essentials: A one-day course for strong resort skiers making their first transition to backcountry travel. Learn skinning, transitions, and touring fundamentals before committing to a full backcountry day.
AIARE Avalanche Courses: Level 1, Level 2, and Companion Rescue courses with field days in real Teton avalanche terrain. Our hybrid format — online learning plus focused field time — makes it easy to earn your AIARE certification on a long weekend visit to Jackson Hole.
Women’s Programs & Family Adventures
The Mountain Guides offer dedicated women’s programs in Jackson Hole including Women’s AIARE Avalanche Courses and Women’s Backcountry Touring Weekends, both taught by experienced female instructors. Our Kids Rock! program is one of the best summer activities for families with children in Jackson Hole, and many of our single-day climbing programs are excellent for families with teenagers. We’re proud to offer something for every member of the family.
