Boulder, Colorado is one of the great climbing cities in America, and the two destinations that put it on the map are Eldorado Canyon State Park and the Flatirons. Eldorado Canyon’s steep canyon walls offer over 500 routes on bomber sandstone conglomerate — from classic single-pitch sport routes to committing multi-pitch trad lines like The Naked Edge and the Yellow Spur. The Flatirons, visible from anywhere in Boulder, provide a different experience: long, moderate slab routes on tilted sandstone formations with sweeping views of the Front Range. Together, they offer some of the most varied and accessible climbing anywhere in Colorado. The Mountain Guides Colorado runs all Boulder-area climbing out of our Front Range base, with AMGA-accredited guides who climb here year-round.

Climbing Eldorado Canyon State Park: Private guided climbing on Eldo’s world-class routes. Your guide selects climbs based on your experience and goals — from moderate classics to hard test pieces. All gear provided.

Climbing the Flatirons: Guided ascents of Boulder’s iconic tilted formations. Long, moderate routes with exposure and views. A quintessential Colorado climbing experience.

Climbing Boulder Canyon: Half day or full day offering for both sport and traditional climbing. Single pitch and/or multi pitch climbing on fantastic granite rock just outside of town.

Climbing Clear Creek Canyon: Half day or full day sport climbing just outside the Denver area.

Colorado Climbing Classes and Camps: Structured outdoor climbing instruction for beginners and intermediates. Learn knots, belaying, movement, and anchor systems on real rock near Boulder.

Season & Access

Boulder and Denver climbing season runs year-round, with spring and fall offering the best conditions. Eldorado Canyon is 15 minutes from downtown Boulder. Boulder Canyon is a 5 minute drive from downtown Boulder. The Flatirons are accessible from multiple trailheads on the west side of Boulder. Clear Creek Canyon is a 20 minute drive from Denver. Denver International Airport is 45 minutes away from most of our climbing areas.
