Rock Climbing at City of Rocks National Reserve
City of Rocks National Reserve in southern Idaho is one of America’s premier granite climbing destinations, with over 750 routes across weathered spires, knobs, and walls of some of the oldest exposed rock in North America. The climbing ranges from beginner-friendly single-pitch top-rope routes to committing multi-pitch trad lines on dramatic formations like Castle Rock, Elephant Rock, and the Lost Arrow Spire. The Mountain Guides offer private guided climbing trips at City of Rocks for all experience levels — no prior climbing experience required. All technical gear is provided by our AMGA-accredited guides.
