Backcountry Skiing in Wyoming — Guided Teton Ski Tours & Courses from Jackson Hole
World-Class Backcountry Skiing in the Tetons
The Teton Range is one of the most iconic backcountry skiing destinations on the planet. Deep, consistent snowfall, dramatic steep terrain, and easy access from Jackson Hole make the Tetons a magnet for backcountry skiers and splitboarders from around the world. The Mountain Guides have been leading backcountry ski programs in the Tetons since our earliest years, and our guides know this terrain intimately — from the classic lines on Teton Pass to the alpine objectives deep in Grand Teton National Park. As the only AMGA-accredited guide service in Jackson Hole, we bring the highest standard of professional instruction to every tour.
Our Wyoming Backcountry Skiing Programs

Backcountry Essentials: A one-day course for strong resort skiers making their first transition to backcountry. Learn skinning, transitions, and touring fundamentals before committing to a full day in avalanche terrain.
Teton Ski / Split Mountaineering Camp: A multi-day advanced camp covering rope systems, steep ski technique, and alpine travel. Build the skills to tackle Wyoming’s biggest ski mountaineering objectives.
Teton Ski Mountaineering: Guided descents of major Teton summits and couloirs for experienced backcountry skiers. The ultimate Wyoming ski experience.
Avalanche Education & Women’s Programs
All of TMG’s Jackson Hole AIARE courses are listed here because avalanche education is inseparable from backcountry skiing. We offer AIARE Level 1, Level 2, and Companion Rescue courses with field days in real Teton terrain, plus Women’s AIARE courses and Women’s Backcountry Touring Weekends taught by experienced female instructors. Our hybrid format — online learning plus focused field time — makes it easy to earn your AIARE certification on a Jackson Hole trip.
