Mountaineering in Utah — Wasatch Ski Mountaineering Camp

Ski Mountaineering in the Wasatch Range

Utah’s Wasatch Range — famous for the Greatest Snow on Earth — offers outstanding terrain for ski mountaineering. Our Wasatch Ski and Splitboard Mountaineering Camp is an advanced multi-day program covering rope systems for glacier travel and steep couloirs, alpine climbing movement with ski boots, crevasse rescue techniques, and steep skiing fundamentals. This camp is designed for experienced backcountry skiers and splitboarders ready to push beyond standard touring into genuine ski mountaineering objectives.

Who This Camp Is For

This is an advanced program. Participants should be strong backcountry skiers or splitboarders comfortable in steep terrain, with experience in avalanche decision-making. The camp builds on your existing touring skills and adds the technical mountaineering layer — ropes, protection, and alpine systems — needed to safely access bigger objectives in the Wasatch and beyond. Salt Lake City International Airport is 30–45 minutes from Wasatch backcountry access points.
