Hiking in Nevada — Guided Red Rock Summit Hikes Near Las Vegas

Desert Summit Hikes in Red Rock Canyon

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, just 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, offers some of the most rewarding desert summit hikes in the Southwest. Our Red Rock Summit Experience takes you to the top of peaks like Juniper Peak, Whiskey Peak, Cactus Flower Tower, and Mt. Wilson — where you’ll find panoramic views of the Spring Mountain Range, the Red Rock escarpment, and the Las Vegas Valley far below. These aren’t trail hikes — they’re guided scrambles on rock and desert terrain that get you to places most Red Rock visitors never reach. No climbing experience or special gear required, just reasonable fitness and a desire to explore beyond the scenic drive.

What to Expect

Your guide selects the right summit based on your group’s fitness level, comfort with exposure, and the time of year. Easier summits like Juniper Peak involve moderate hiking with some scrambling, while Mt. Wilson is a longer, more demanding objective. All trips are private and guided by AMGA-accredited professionals who know Red Rock’s terrain intimately. Trips typically run 3–6 hours depending on the objective. The best months for Red Rock hiking are October through April — the same inverted season that makes Red Rock perfect for winter climbing.
