The Mountain Guides offer guided rock climbing in Red Rock year-round — from introductory single-pitch climbs for first-timers to committing multi-pitch and big-wall routes for experienced climbers. All technical climbing gear is provided, and no prior experience is required for our beginner programs.

Our Red Rock Climbing Programs

Half-Day Climbing Experience: An ideal introduction to outdoor rock climbing, or a quick session for experienced climbers short on time. Choose from single-pitch routes or 2–3 pitch climbs across Red Rock’s sandstone walls. Perfect for visitors looking to escape the Strip for a morning adventure. 4–5 hours.

Full-Day Climbing Experience: A full day on the rock with your guide, from classic single-pitch sport and trad routes to longer 4–6 pitch climbs. Routes are chosen based on your experience level and goals. Prior experience or a prerequisite class is required for multi-pitch options.

Advanced Multi-Pitch Climbing: For experienced climbers ready to tackle Red Rock’s iconic longer routes — typically 7–10 pitches. Start early, climb high, and end late. Your guide will evaluate your ability and suggest classic lines to match your ambitions.

Learn to Climb: Never climbed before? Our introductory climbing classes teach everything from basic rope skills and knots to belay technique, climbing movement, and anchor systems. Red Rock’s warm weather and beginner-friendly sandstone make it one of the best places in the country to start climbing.

Women’s Climbing Weekend: A multi-day clinic for women of all levels, led by experienced female guides. Refine your skills, push your grade, and climb with a group of like-minded women on Red Rock’s iconic sandstone.

Why Red Rock Is World-Class for Climbing

Red Rock Canyon’s Aztec Sandstone walls offer thousands of routes across every discipline and difficulty level — from easy top-rope climbs to some of the longest multi-pitch routes in the Southwest. The climbing season runs roughly October through April, when desert temperatures are ideal. Located in the Spring Mountain Range at 4,000–6,000 feet, Red Rock is significantly cooler than the Las Vegas valley floor. The area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and accessed via the scenic 13-mile loop drive, just a short drive from the city.
