Climbers celebrating at summit

Testimonials

We at JHMG enjoy our clients’ diversity and energy. Everyone on a climb has something to contribute, each bringing a unique blend of skills and backgrounds that enhance the experience of the entire group.

We look forward to welcoming back past clients for another adventure, and appreciate getting to know new faces each year.

"This was a physically demanding effort, with rough terrain, long days, and some thrilling vertical rock in order to gain the summit. I feel like I lucked out in having a guide such as Nadav. His patience, competence, experience, and encouragement through some of the difficult sections were of major value in helping me to get to the top and to return safely. All of my experiences with JHMG, from reservations, communications before the trip, through on the ground activity during the trip were positive. The company and the guide rate a 10 in my view!"

Perry Langford

"Totally positive experience climbing the Grand Teton that exceeded my expectations. Guides Nate, Jed and Noah were professional, knowledgeable, with great senses of humor, and I felt totally safe and encouraged to push my limits of climbing to gain confidence and still have fun. Also to meet Rob Hess and share conversation at high camp was very memorable. The trip was well organized and executed with care and precision. The equipment and accommodations were premier…very comfortable and well laid out. The food was good and satisfying. JHMG made this trip the best climbing experience of my life. Well done JHMG!"

Ed Erikson

"Tracy Martin designed an awesome day of multi-pitch climbing in Red Rock Canyon. My objectives were to not only experience a multi-pitch climb in this terrain, but also refresh some skills learned in previous courses and guiding sessions. We climbed 3 mixed-gear routes ranging from 5.8 to 5.10a, with me leading the first pitch of the 10a. It was a great experience…I felt very safe the entire time, yet the type of rock and unique features posed the occasional challenge. It was a great confidence builder for my own climbing resume and experience/technical skill base. Furthermore, climbing with Tracy was like climbing with a best friend. She is friendly, has a great sense of humor, and is easy going. Yet, her climbing skills are top rate. I’ll definitely climb with her again."

Jason Lukasek

"Tracy was incredible. She listened and built a custom syllabus based on our experience as a couple and our objectives. Cheryl and I couldn’t have imagined a better experience with fun climbing and technical skills combined. We can’t wait to go out with Tracy again to advance our education after solidifying the skills she taught. She was patient, positive, and had a great sense of humor. Combined with her expertise, we couldn’t imagine a better learning environment."

Brian Pinkston

"We absolutely made a great decision going with JHMG to climb the Grand. Our guide Steve Quinlan was obviously an accomplished mountaineer and climber but humble, patient and entertaining as well… Really enjoyed the camaraderie of the other guides, clients and accomplished visitors while we were in Corbet High Camp. And the folks like Patrick were a real pleasure talking to when we checked in at the office. Thanks JHMG!"

David Turner

"We signed up with JHMG two years ago for our first rock climbing ever. They were enthusiastic and responsive as we made telephone reservations and that was how we decided to go with them. We had a born teacher, himself a high-class climber, for that class and it was a BLAST to hang off that rock and look at the Tetons and landscape around us. That introduction has motivated us to keep climbing, and to come back to JHMG for more instruction and trips."

Sympson

"What an awesome day with our youth climbers. For many of the 5-12 year olds, it was their first time climbing outside. Amy and Lisa were great with them and everyone had a blast. Thanks for a solid day on the rock!"

Charlie Manganiello (Youth Climbing ICF Program)

"Your staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They made the climb challenging and enjoyable, while maintaining safety procedures. I highly recommend climbing with your staff!"

Pablo

"The Mountain Guides are the best. It is not just the reputation of TMG as an elite group of experts in the field, it is the level of professionalism, their relating to clients in an individual manner, and safety. So glad we picked TMG as I’ve seen other climbing instructors and frankly they don’t have the same attention to details and professionalism as TMG. Our instructor, Randy Hohf, was very thorough and patient. It is great to have local instructors like Randy who is highly respected in the area for mountaineering, as is Tim Shaw for both mountaineering and alpine ski patrol."

Paul Okerberg

"Sensational! What an amazing experience. This experience was top-notch. The guides are experts, sponsored by core brands, and totally friendly. You will get pushed to your limits but what is really nice is that they take the time to combine people with similar skill levels. They are here for you. Sam’s the man. Always enjoy climbing with him!"

"The 4 day Grand Teton experience was phenomenal. As I was unfamiliar with rock climbing, I was taken well outside of my comfort zone which was a true growth experience. I am sad the experience is over and I am already planning my next trip. I’m hooked."

Brad Smith

"The ascent of the Grand is likely the greatest combined physical/mental accomplishment of my 56 years. It would have been well beyond my capabilities absent the exemplary training provided by and the expertise of our stellar group of guides. The four day trip with JHMG is a once in a life time experience because of the combination of training by the JHMG guides, their expertise/professionalism, and the amenities and acclimatization provided by the JHMG high camp. This trip requires mountaineering skills and conditioning so be sure to come to it fit and strong."

Ted Richards

"The climb was so much more difficult than I expected but Mike did an excellent job of keeping me moving safely so I could reach the summit. Mike also provided surprisingly tasty meals on this climb."

Y. Riviera

"The guides I worked with at Red Rocks were phenomenal. They were incredibly professional, skilled, and confidence inspiring. I had three fantastic days of climbing sport and multi pitch routes. I can’t wait to come back and do it again! The experience was beautiful, challenging, and memorable. Our guide was polite and accommodating, pushing me when I seemed to need it, lending an extra hand when required."

Jeannie Oestreicher

"They say it is all about the journey and not the summit and I learned that first hand with JHMG! I eagerly signed up for this trip with some of my best friends from college. We were excited to do something different, challenging and in the great outdoors after a long emotional year of losses, illness and set backs. This experience helped put life in perspective. There was nothing to think about but our trust in each other and the rock ahead of us. Our bond just got tighter by sharing this experience together. It was JHMG that made it all possible by making the trip preparation easy, the training manageable, the logistics organized, the experience fun and most importantly offering constant words of encouragement, safety and support along the way to instill confidence in all of us that it IS about the journey but in our quest for the summit!"

Nora Stowell

"This climb was life-changing. It was a true mountaineering experience that offered everything: risk, reward, pain, suffering, conquering fears, and pushing personal limits. Nadav was the best guide I’ve ever had. He was honest, laid back and answered any question we could throw at him. His knowledge about the mountains and the Winds in particular was greatly appreciated. He was an excellent teacher and mentor in the backcountry, but he also showed real interest in getting to know each of us on a personal level. I feel like that is rare trait these days. Over the course of the 5 days, I felt less like a client and more like a friend. On summit day, Nadav was honest and upfront. I never felt like he was babysitting us, but rather truly guiding us. We discussed every section of the climb prior to making any major moves. He never stopped teaching the entire day. He knew just how far to push us while managing the risks and keeping us safe. I feel honored to call Nadav my friend."

Lee Perlman

"This July, I was invited to join some friends form Park City, Utah to climb the Grand Teton. I faced three big challenges. First, I had no climbing experience. Second, I am not a huge camper. Third, I was very apprehensive about what it would be like and perhaps more importantly if I could do it. The trip I pursued was a three day trip, day 1 to base camp, day 2 training and day 3 ascend and descend. For my first challenge of having no climbing experience, JHMG prepared a day of training to build my basic climbing skills, repelling skills, and how to work as a team. Not having been through any of this before, they took the time to uncover that and customize the training for my level of experience (or none as it were). Throughout each part of the training, they used proven adult learning approaches, gave me multiple attempts to build confidence and provided important feedback when I needed it. Challenge number two (little camping appetite) was a place where JHMG really stood out. Unlike other guide companies I researched, JHMG made breakfast and dinner for us each day of the adventure. The food was good, the company was even better and the fact the trip had some high-end touches unrelated to climbing were welcome after a hard day of climbing, training or the day of the big summit. Those small touches were a big deal. Finally, challenge three and my apprehension of the technical elements of the climb. The training day was a difference maker but the real test was on the mountain the day we made the summit. The climb to the summit for me, was a mental challenge on two fronts. Although physically I felt OK, I tended to move too quickly. Several of the guides helped me set and maintain a pace that I could maintain that helped us get to the top. When I reached points in the climb and was unsure if I could do it or continue, I had multiple experts breaking down the task into small pieces and helping me achieve each one. At several points in the climb it was their technical support, ongoing training and encouragement that made all the difference. So, two weeks later, I think about Mark, Jacob and Jason, their tireless work to prepare me, create a high-end experience, and build my confidence that it was achievable. Given to my own challenges, I know I could not have achieved this without their help. I am so grateful for their attention to detail, attention to my experience and professionalism."

Alec Ford

"Nate and Noah were top notch, professional and safety first. I would use them both again, great guys, knowledgeable and prepared."

Doug Chinn

"Nate combined safety and teaching into an awesome adventure. His explanation of the equipment and how it is used, made the climb more interesting and his encouragement made the experience lots of fun. My son and I had a truly great day!"

Alison Lee

"Noah was great. He was social, safety conscious and inspired me to do better. He is an excellent cook! He did a wonderful job of guiding me through a difficult challenge. I hope to climb with him again."

David Shaw

"Our climb up the Grand Teton with Sam Hennessey was unforgettable! Sam was a fantastic guide from the very start. He established a sustainable pace to ensure that we’d have enough left in the tank at the end of the day – and we did! Sam was extremely professional and enjoyable the entire time . He was also surprisingly knowledgeable about the history and geology of GTNP. I would HIGHLY recommend climbing the Grand (or any mountain) with Sam, he’s a consummate guide."

Charley

"Our guide, Tyler Jones, was top notch. He was highly experienced, knowledgeable, a patient teacher and even a decent cook. I had never been on a trip like this before and really didn’t understand what I was getting myself into when I agreed to go with my friends. Tyler went above and beyond to make sure we all had a good experience, stayed safe and enjoyed the mountains. The accommodations and food in high camp were very good. The weather, on the other hand, didn’t cooperate but we still had a blast and made good memories."

Andy Hill

"Our trip was awesome. [Steve] Our guide did the perfect job of keeping us safe while letting us explore the mountain. Having tried to climb the Grand several years ago on our own and turning back, this time with Steve it was a lot easier and we were successful. The only mistake we made was not hiring a guide on the first attempt."

Jason

"Paul was an outstanding guide (I have a strong frame of reference; I have probably worked with at least 20 guides on five continents). He guided me and my two young children on the Grand Teton. Paul was patient and firm with them. They felt safe and I felt they were in good hands. Most importantly, Paul seemed invested in our achieving our objective for the trip. It never felt like just a job to him."

Jonathan Chaplin

"Postle and the JHMG team made for a great experience for our three kids. The low key, safe and flexible orientation and instruction was perfect. Even our 4 year old blazed up and down from great heights!"

M. Konchar

"Professional and friendly crew. The class was better than I ever expected. Excellent job at building confidence and knowledge. I pretty much had the best day ever!"

Kristi

"Sam was a fantastic guide, he got us up and down the Grand at a sustainable pace and kept us informed and safe at all times. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience."

Richard Will, Jr.

"Kenny was the best outdoor adventure guide we’ve ever had. He explained everything thoroughly and stressed safety throughout. He’s courteous, sincere, and flexible. An overall tremendous experience. Keith, Steve, and Aimee were three incredible guides. They were all patient and inspiring the entire trip. Although we didn’t get to summit the Grand, it was still one of the best experiences of my life."

Josh Stephens

"Matt and Keith were outstanding. I really appreciate their expertise and capabilities. It is obvious that they know what they are doing in the wilderness."

Andy Fox

"I wouldn’t consider going into the high Teton range without JHMG!"

Marc Connell

"My buddy and I were looking to go tall in Red Rock and Josh put us on a great route. We climbed Dark Shadows, a 1,200 foot climb. Not only was the route a lot of fun, Josh was great! Technically, he was a great climber. Safety was his number one concern, constantly checking and re-checking systems at each belay station. He also provided us with some great tips on communication on multi-pitch routes, effectively building anchors and rappelling for us to use on future climbing trips. I have climbed with JHMG many times and will continue to use them!"

Marc Landau

"My experience climbing with Tracy at Red Rocks was amazing. She is safe, knowledgeable, and really fun to be with. I would highly recommend a climbing trip to sunny Red Rocks with JHMG. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to climb with Tracy!"

Allison Dittmer

"My experience with JHMG was great. I would recommend this outfit to anybody I know who is interested in climbing the Grand. I contacted the office multiple times throughout my research process and I was received with great attitudes and useful information every time I called. One of the main reasons my fiancé and I chose JHMG was because of the 4 day trip. We came from Kentucky, and having the ability to stay at High Camp for three nights was a huge distinguisher compared to other guiding outfits in the area. It was also very convenient because it gave us time to train and acclimate at 11000 feet. Lisa and Cat were great guides who took time to cater the training to what we needed on the mountain. We felt comfortable performing the necessary maneuvers to safely and effectively climb. The atmosphere at high camp was great… I felt safe and well prepared the entire time I was under Lisa and Cat’s watch. All in all, I would recommend JHMG to any friend or family member who was heading to the Jackson area. Great experience, great guides, tons of fun, wonderful memories!"

Robert "Farley" Stephenson

"My two sons had an awesome experience learning more about climbing, the associated terms and interacting with their guide Nate. They had great stories to tell about the day, and are looking forward to summiting the Grand Teton one day. My group participated in the 2 day summit of the Grand Teton. The trip was sort of a splurge for us, but worth every penny. It was hugely important to have a knowledgable guide to manage equipment and undertake route finding. Our guide was friendly and extremely professional; he kept our group on track and provided a safe and fulfilling experience for everyone. My father and I returned to the Tetons, a special place for both of us, to summit Mt. Moran for his 60th birthday and 40 years after he had been rescued off the peak (August 1975) after an unexpected, heavy snow storm had trapped his party for 2 days on the mountain. This time we had good weather for most of the climb and a wonderful time. Our guide, Phil Jones, made this experience one for the books, giving us the technical support we needed to summit and return safely. His sense of humor (especially about my dad bringing the pack and boots he wore on the mountain 40 years prior), great cooking and calm demeanor made him an indispensable asset to us — not to mention his climbing and route finding skills. It was a fun trip and an epic return to the mountain for my dad. Thanks, JHMG and Phil for making this trip possible!"

Cathy Collentine

"I will remember this trip for the rest of my life!"

Jacob

"I would not hesitate to recommend Jackson Hole Mountain Guides to a friend who was interested in rock climbing in the Jackson Hole/Grand Teton National Park area."

Bill Jetton

"I’ve climbed with multiple guides from JHMG over the years, and every one was a solid partner and enjoyable companion for the day. For me, hiring a guide for Red Rocks is a great way to leverage a trip to Las Vegas and get in some climbing when I don’t have a partner available. It’s great to have a partner that has all the beta, so that I can just focus on the climbing, and not worry about the route finding. I’ve been able to climb some big routes with JHMG, and always learn something from my guide."

Andy Welter

"If looking for adventure, to push your limits, yet feel safe and well cared for during your entire trip, then JHMG is the group for you. They were extremely thorough and professional, but laid back enough to let us take in the moment and enjoy the experience."

Dan Surdam

"It was an amazing trip, with professional, fun & hilarious guides (Aimee, Steve, Erica & Lisa)! The experience was one that I will remember for a lifetime, and the skills I learned will be utilized on many upcoming adventures! Thanks JHMG, for a wonderful adventure!"

Kathi O'Neill

"Our guide, Jed Workman, was really great – experienced, funny, sociable and perceptive. A great mix of giving guidance, encouraging and humor. Really liked his stories and perspective on climbing and guiding. He is an excellent guide, I would sign up with him again. Very glad I choose JHMG over other companies. 3 day format is better than 2 day, which would have been too quick. All staff at JHMG were friendly and professional. Highly satisfied!"

Chris Lynch

"JHMG is a stellar outfit. These guys know what they’re doing and bring a level of passion to the job that’s contagious. Our trip had unfortunate weather, so we didn’t get to accomplish the goals we’d set… but JHMG made the best of it for us. I would head out with these folks any day and really couldn’t have asked for a better group to guide the trip."

Matt

"JHMG offers an incredible four day climb of the Grand Teton that is great for people who don’t have experience climbing or those who just want to move at a more leisurely pace! Spending three nights at high camp is an amazing opportunity, and it was incredible to spend so much time at a high elevation. The views from camp are spectacular, and the amenities offered make camping at 11,000 ft as comfortable as possible. All of the guides are extremely helpful and friendly, and their first priority is safety. Once you learn to trust that the ropes will hold you, hanging off a cliff doesn’t seem so scary! The Grand Teton is considered a fairly easy mountain for experienced climbers, but the technical work involved was much more difficult than I anticipated. Thanks to our great guides, their constant encouragement, and their excellent instruction, I was able to do it! The four day trip with JHMG is a great experience for people looking to spend time outside, push their mental and physical limits, and see some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world!"

Anne Archer Hinkle

"JHMG provided my two children and I with an experience that we will treasure for the rest of our lives."

Richard Hess

"JHMG was just what we were looking for! Our guide was very friendly and professional, and did a great job coaching us along the way. Not only did we get to enjoy a beautiful hike up to disappointment peak, we were able to learn some new tricks and techniques along the way. The small amount of rock climbing gave us a taste for what we would like to experience more. Thank you JHMG and Mike Poborsky for a great day in the Tetons!"

Ashley and Jeff Zierath

"I had a really great trip on the Grand with Nate Opp, who was able to make the climb feel challenging, yet obtainable, the entire time. The entire experience, from the trip up, to the stay at Corbett High Camp, to the climb itself, was first rate. I can’t wait to come back and climb in the Tetons with JHMG again!"

Dan Mulvihill

"I have climbed with JHMG multiple times over the last 18 years in the Tetons. The experience has always been excellent. What I have found consistently over the years is a group of guides who are accomplished climbers, excellent teachers of what they do, and very enjoyable to be around in a personal sense. I’m sure there are other guide services that are good as well, but the JHMG staff as a whole seem to really enjoy what they do and genuinely want to share their climbing and outdoor passion with the mortals. If someone desires to have these qualities in a guide service, JHMG is the one for you."

Brad A. Ward

"I have climbed with JHMG on three occasions, in the Tetons and in Red Rock. I have NEVER been disappointed. The guides are safe, knowledgeable, encouraging and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend JHMG’s services to anyone and I plan on more climbs with them in the future."

James Vanyek

"I just climbed the Grand Teton with three amazing guides from JHMG. Nate, Paul and Jacob have years of experience mountaineering, and their professionalism and ability is second to none. I would climb with any of them again, without hesitation."

Wm. Craig Penglase

"I loved having the one-on-one with my Guide Erica [Engle]. She was attentive, safety conscious, yet challenged me. We did several different routes so it didn’t get boring. Talked about climbing in general, different places, etc. We had a great day; she encouraged me and made me feel like I was an accomplished climber for the amount of time I have been climbing!"

Jaque McVey

"I really enjoy my time with JHMG. Everyone is very jovial and accepting. I am not the most experienced person in alpine climbing but they made me feel very successful. I didn’t want to slow my group down but the guides made sure I was ok and having a good time! It was a lot of hard work for me and they made sure to celebrate my success. I appreciate that Doug double checked our gear before we hiked up to camp and his “bullet point” instructions to make sure we knew what the game plan always was. I like following a plan. Great vacation. Thank you!"

Emily Peterson

"I thought all three of our guides, Nate, Paul and Jacob were extremely professional, very patient and took the time to get to know us. They were informative on the actual climb and expectations. I enjoyed the experience and would feel comfortable recommending and choosing JHMG again. I also wanted to give a shout-out to Mark and Patrick in the office who helped to coordinate everything on the front-end for me. They did an awesome job!!"

Michele Smith

"I used JHMG for a 4 day Grand Teton climb and summit back in 2008. I had such a wonderful experience, that when my son decided he wanted to climb the Grand with me in 2015, there was only one Guide service I would even consider: Jackson Hole Mountain Guides. We made a successful summit of the Grand and those 4 days on the mountain are without question, the best Father-Son experience of our lives. We will never forget that amazing experience for the rest of our lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

Brian Childs

"I went to Red Rocks with the Chicks Climbing group and it was an excellent experience all around. I would highly recommend it and would do it again without hesitation. I was very impressed with the set up at high camp and how “well greased” the whole trip logistics were. I was delighted to learn that I had to carry very little to high camp – tent, sleeping bag, pad, harness, helmet, protection were all there. And the climb up to high camp was much easier than expected, largely because of the methodical pace set by my guide. Finally, when we arrived, I felt like I’d walked into a palace. It was great to have hot water, drinks, appetizers, etc. all set out for me. The tent was spacious and incredibly comfortable. If you could only have controlled the weather then the trip would have been perfect. As luck would have it, the first storm of the fall/winter came in and but a dagger in the heart of my plans to bag the summit. But we got out and gave it a good try anyway, and I had a fun, memorable trip despite not achieving the ultimate goal."

Jill McCarthy

"Excellent climb with top-notch guides. Safety was the number one consideration. Our group of four all summitted, two had no climbing experience. Highly recommend!"

Frank

"From the start, the guides have your safety at the forefront. Additionally, they are reading you, paying attention to you, the weather, other factors and doing their best to get you safely to the top. They went as far as to tell us where to place every step, to help us with efficiency as we moved up and down the mountain. Top notch guiding all the way."

Brian Kahn

"Great, safe, and affordable. They make the class work for you. I had never climbed outdoors before, but I felt safe and in good hands the whole time. Great company."

Anonymous

"Great trip with great guides and an overall amazing experience."

Milo Lewon

"Great trip. Nate Opp was great to work with. I always felt safe, given the environment. He was very attentive and supportive. All the guides we met were great. Highly recommend JHMG!!! Good camp setup."

Bruce Murphy

"Despite having never climbed before, my guide had me climbing multi pitch at 5.8 with no issue. We then pushed for 15 continuous hours to bag Mt Moran, traditionally done in 3 days we completed it in a single day. Jackson Hole Mountain Guides truly helped me transition from backpacker to climber."

Christopher Gabriele

"Having never rock climbed before, we were not sure what to expect. From start to finish, the experience was wonderful. JHMG was easy to deal with when booking and their emphasis on safety and professional instruction made for a great experience."

Paul F

"I had a good time and would do another expedition with JHMG in the future."

Richard Chinn

"I had a great experience with Mike Poborsky. He was on time, knew the terrain and how long it would take us and allowed for enough sleep prior to our summit day… Mike was safe and I enjoyed climbing with him. He taught me … new tricks/ techniques to use less gear for anchoring and rely more on the rope… Had a great experience with Mike and if/when the N. Face ever becomes climbable again I’ll hire him to guide me up that as well. Thanks JHMG!"

Andrea Koenig

"It was beautiful, challenging and delightful. Sam [Hennessey], my guide, was knowledgeable, accomplished and easy to get along with. The route that was suggested for me was exactly the right level for my abilities as well as stunning. All in all, a great, full, hard day. I had a great time climbing with JHMG."

David Pasquesi

"Aimee [Barnes] & Jacob [Schmitz] were the ultimate professionals. Working with JHMG was a great experience."

Greg Howington

"Aimee [Barnes] was fantastic, knowledgeable, and fun! She made our day amazing!"

Shana Stratford

"Always professional, always personable, always safe, always considerate. They take the time to develop a plan with the client that creates a fun and challenging experience; also, they provide valuable teaching moments along the way. I look forward to using their services again."

Greg Cutcher

"Climbing a traverse with Mike Poborsky is like watching a ballet. He is a consummate professional and climber. The Middle Teton-Cloudveil traverse was the climbing highlight of my summer! Thanks Mike and JHMG!!"

Andy Forbes

"Climbing The Grand with JHMG was one of the most incredible experiences in my already rich life. I came into the trip a bit apprehensive about the climbing and exposure, but the training and guides not only made me feel safe and confident, they also taught me skills to improve future climbing experiences. I expected crazy beautiful views and fun times and you guys delivered both along with an unexpected level of service, coaching, and camaraderie. Keep up the great work and we’ll see you on future climbing and mountaineering trips."

Harry Kirschner

"Climbing with Jeff Ward is always great climbing, with Jeff I am always comfortable, secure with his ability to keep me safe during the climbs, he is the best technical guide I know, and is always cautious of other surrounding climbers, and hazards – thanks for a great trip."

John E Williams

"Dave Wade was our guide. Excellent, as you know. He’s as strong as an ox – he could have carried my 68 Camaro to the top. We felt safe at all times- in great hands. I also appreciated his honest feedback. Thank you!"

Terry Miller

"Our guide Joel Enrico did an outstanding and exemplary job. Climbing the Upper Exum Route was more mentally challenging than I had anticipated (I am not a climber), but I thoroughly enjoyed my journey up the Grand because of Joel’s competence, professionalism, words of encouragement and constant commitment to safety. He never once made me feel rushed and his communication with our rope team was exceptional. Once we summited and made our way down he was again committed to our safety and shared in a lot of laughs. Back at camp, Joel shined as camp chef, and seemed to carry out all tasks effortlessly. I cannot recommend him more highly as a guide. I truly believe my experience could have been way more scary and was less fun had it not been shared with someone like Joel, instead I left the mountain feeling strong, inspired and longing for my next JHMG mountain adventure."

Anonymous

"Doug Workman is a true professional. Competent, patient, and enjoyable. I would put him on the short list of best guide experiences we have ever had, in any endeavor."

Deacon Turner

"Everyone at JHMG was fantastic! From Patrick & Jason in the office to our excellent guide, everyone was very friendly, professional and accommodating."

Todd Bublitz

"John Douglass did a great job in finding the optimal tour for me, despite difficult conditions, he made the best of it and we had a great day!"

Ralf Purschke

"We have made many trips to climb with JHMG in Red Rocks outside of Las Vegas. Members of my family have different levels of climbing skills. Mark Limage has always considered the members of my group (it differs from year to year) and always schedules an itinerary that is enjoyable for everyone. We enjoy trying new routes and the challenges we encounter allow us to improve our skills and develop confidence. Our guides are always skilled, friendly, accommodating, and willing to teach anything we wanted to know. We have never failed to have a great time. Climbing with JHMG is a fantastic family activity. We look forward to more climbing for years to come."

Steve Megison

"Erica Engle was an excellent guide. She went out of her way to help me achieve my goals for the trip, and she was good at explaining what I needed to know, while remaining patient. I highly recommend her as a guide."

Frank Wright

"These guys really know the mountain. We found powder to make fresh tracks while the whole of Jackson Hole had been skied out! Thank you Brian!"

Mark Disney

"JHMG at Redrocks is everything a guide service should be. They have technically expert guides with a deep knowledge of the riches of Redrock. But the guides are also smart, friendly and warm. I try to take a day of climbing with them every time I pass through Las Vegas."

Greg Frux

"Went climbing for the first time with friends and my 11 year old son. Had a blast. Mark and Tracy were awesome could not have the experience without them. Conquered some fears and really enjoyed the whole day. JHMG is the best, get out there and try them."

Dan Jansen

"I just wanted to let you know what an inspired and safe experience your guide, Patrick McDermott, provided for our group. In our group, we had 2 skiers who had never been out skiing in the backcountry. One of them hadn’t even skied in over 6 years. Patrick knew exactly how to handle the more challenging moments of the climb up and provided encouragement for all of us. His demeanor couldn’t have been better and his instincts and knowledge of the park were impeccable. The beauty and serenity of climbing and skiing in Teton National Park is truly a one of a kind experience and left all of us wanting more. I cannot recommend Jackson Hole Mountain Guides more and encourage everyone to take advantage of this exceptional experience. It was a gift for us all and did wonders for the soul."

Alexis Dittmer

"I’ve climbed with multiple guides from JHMG over the years, and every one was a solid partner and enjoyable companion for the day. For me, hiring a guide for Red Rocks is a great way to leverage a trip to Las Vegas and get in some climbing when I don’t have a partner available. Its great to have a partner that has all the beta, so that I can just focus on the climbing, and not worry about the route finding. I’ve been able to climb some big routes with JHMG, and always learn something from my guide."

Andy Welter

"A perfect trip. The Grand really is amazing; and it was all made possible by our guide Brian [Warren], whose experience, patience and knowledge made it happen for us."

Matt Willis

"Absolutely awesome experience! Erica [Engle] and Elaina [Arenz] are top notch guides…extremely knowledgeable and professional. I learned a great deal from them while they tested my abilities. I am already planning my next trip."

Diane Mielcarz

"JHMG is an amazing organization. They listen to what I want in a trip experience then seek to take it one step bigger & better."

"Guide Tracy Martin was fantastic. Knowledge of the routes and ability to quickly move through terrain from one climb to another was great. We got in more routes than I expected. Well worth the price to get a guide like her."

Mike Belu

"JHMG is an amazing organization. They listen to what I want in a trip experience then seek to take it one step bigger & better."

Mike Long

"On this trip, I went with my daughter and son-in-law…and my granddaughter (3 months old). I asked Mark Limage and Josh Janes if they could arrange two days of climbing that would allow us to take the baby. They didn’t blink an eye. They arranged two days of excellent climbing. We were challenged but always close to the ground. Josh guided us and was completely relaxed with the baby around. I’m certain this was an unusual request but they didn’t hesitate to do whatever it took to engineer a spectacular trip. Mark Limage has been accommodating my family’s high maintenance requirements for years. When we come, we bring experienced climbers and novices. At times, the number of climbers changes each day (requiring variable scheduling of guides). Mark has pulled off this scheduling every time without fail. Josh has been our guide each of the past few years. He is skilled and excellent with each of my family members, regardless of skill level. The two of them are outstanding."

Steve Megison

"Awesome experience: great guide, fantastic routes, perfect location and nice weather. What more could you possibly wish for?"

Oleg & Mariann Neverovitch

"Mark did a great job and helped me out to push my limit."

Bruce Miskulin

The guides at JHMG are knowledgeable, experienced and will show you the best of what Red Rock has to offer. Highly recommend JHMG…. Brian Warren did a great job with our group keeping us safe and giving us a wonderful experience!"

Anita and Jeff Karunakar

"The JHMG team provided a top-shelf experience for our custom backcountry ski adventure. The guides reached out to provide a helpful introduction and trip planning assistance. Our guide Pat quickly discerned the different skill and strength levels of our group members, and then tailored our adventure to accommodate each team member. Pat remained level headed and patient in the face of challenges and helped instill confidence in our team. We had a fantastic experience with Pat and JHMG, and hope to join for another adventure."

Nathan Hertzog

Brett Stevens

Clinton Culp

"Words cannot convey the experience of a winter day out with a JHMG guide taking you on a safe tour of the Tetons. Slow and steady up for a few hours rewards you with an exquisite view of the Tetons in all their majesty. Then, instead of an exhausting, bone-jarring hike back down, take the skins off your skis and ride down in powder that is almost impossible to find in a ski resort. Even a week after the last snowfall, you will still find good snow to ride down on. Even if it’s not a clear and sunny day, it’s a wonderful day out and you’ll want to keep going back until you are rewarded with those magnificent views. If the price for a ride on the Virgin Galactic rocket is $200,000, I’d say a day in the Tetons with a JHMG guide is the most undervalued ticket you can buy!"

Victor Haghani

"JHMG provides a total package experience for all level of adventures. I highly recommend them for an awesome and safe vacation."

Pablo Lima

"My experiences with JHMG have been uniformly outstanding. Each guide that has worked with me over the years has taken a genuine interest in helping me advance my climbing. The levels of professionalism, expertise, and interest in teaching among the guides I have worked with has been top-notch."

"Aimee was fantastic. Her experience really shined through in how she built the progression of our day. We felt incredibly supported and, by the end of the day, accomplished. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone. My guide Josh Janes was fit, fun and ‘Down to Climb’. His local guide knowledge made my experience an awesome success! Hire Josh, come prepared and you’ll have a experience to remember!"

Taylor Samuels

"Thanks so much for hosting us at your beautiful camp. It was a very meaningful and memorable time for our family. [This was] the first ascent of the Grand for the boys and my first ascent since Alex’s death. The site of your camp with the spectacular summits wrapping around us was an idyllic starting point for our climb. So many wonderful memories in those lovely spires!"

Jennifer Lowe

"Joe and I wanted to again say thanks for an awesome trip. We were put at ease the second we walked into the guide shop on Monday night for a gear check. I would absolutely recommend JHMG to anyone who asks. Every single guide we met was approachable, professional, and fun to be around, making for a great time. I sincerely hope that our paths cross again some time."

Steve Widdoss

I was impressed with its professionalism, focus on safety, and the personal attention that my son Luke and I received from the staff. It’s hard to imagine how you guys can maintain that level of intensity and professionalism all summer long."

We look forward to more climbing for years to come. I would highly recommend taking the time to rock climb in Red Rock Canyon with JHMG service. It will be a trip to Vegas you won’t forget. The guides at JHMG are knowledgeable, experienced and will show you the best of what Red Rock has to offer."

"We love JHMG – we have climbed with them twice already. We could not have done this without our wonderful guides who helped us with the reservations and logistics. On both occasions, we had a unique, both challenging and fun experience. More importantly, it was very safe. So worth it!"

Iryna Hlushakova

"JHMG is awesome. Their guides are knowledgeable and professional that make your climbing experience memorable and safe."

Pablo Lima

"I was out on Las Vegas and wanted to do a multi-pitch climb that was just outside of my leading abilities, one where I could second the whole route. Once the route was select, I meet my guide at the climbing shop and we headed out. The selected climb was perfect, just outside my abilities as I wanted, but not too difficult to shut me down. During the whole time the JHMG Guide was polite, encouraging, and made me feel safe the whole time. This climb was memorable and I can’t wait to return next fall and lead it myself. I really liked how I was treated more as a climber than just a business arrangement. The guide seemed to really enjoy being outside and climbing with me."

John Farrell

"I just wanted to thank you for setting us up with such unbelievable guides. They were absolutely solid, professional and fun to be around. We couldn’t have had better, nor better results. That climb of the Grand is something I’ll never forget. I will be back to climb Mt. Moran next."

Paul Edelbrock

"We love JHMG! We try and go once a year to climb with them and it is always a highlight of our year! It’s relaxing, fun, challenging and exciting! Thanks for a great trip!"

Rachel Soeken

"The team at Jackson Hole Mountain Guides provided an extraordinarily enjoyable recreation experience. The site JHMG had us climb was perfect. It was challenging enough to make it interesting, but reasonable enough that every member of our team had success. The view of the Grand Tetons, and the scenery around the climbing site itself made it a consummate Jackson Hole experience. The JHMG team members were perfect. They gave just enough instruction and coaching to make us safe and successful, without making themselves the center of attention. The whole JHMG experience was head-and-shoulders above the typical corporate recreation outing. I’m trading my golf clubs for climbing shoes."

Joe Mallahan, V.P. Corporate Strategy, T-Mobile, U.S.A.

"Wow! What can I say? Thank you! I never thought I’d climb again and you guys gave me the confidence and encouragement to do it again. Today’s hike was long, but the view well worth it. Thanks for sharing a part of your life with me. Thanks again."

Liz

"Thanks from all of us for making our expedition to the Grand such a wonderful time. Both Sam and Isaac enjoyed High Camp and the chance to stand on top of the Grand Teton. Your hospitality was exceptional! The usage of the hut really makes a difference."

Conrad

"Thanks to Jackson Hole Mountain Guides for your time, effort and patience to get this old man to the top of the Grand Teton on my 60th anniversary climb. I am proud of you and your excellent climbing school."

Paul Petzoldt, the first Teton guide and founder of NOLS and Exum Guide Service

"Thank you for taking us on the climb. It was such a blast! Being on the Grand was really neat and I hope to do more climbs like it. Thanks for teaching me many things!"

"The Mountain Guides are the best. It is not just the reputation of TMG as an elite group of experts in the field, it is the level of professionalism, their relating to clients in an individual manner, and safety. So glad we picked TMG as I’ve seen other climbing instructors and frankly they don’t have the same attention to details and professionalism as TMG."

Paul Okerberg

"Jordyn What an awesome experience. Days later, I still find myself thinking about the climb and what an incredible journey it was. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable and not once did I feel unsafe or as if I wasn’t in good hands. It was a great two days of climbing, laughing, sharing and enjoying breathtaking views"
