Growing up in Idaho, Tyler had an early enthusiasm for mountain experiences. He knew he wanted to pursue mountain guiding since his first trip to the Grand Teton at age 14. He has since made climbing and guiding a lifestyle. He spends his time between Washington, Alaska, Wyoming, and France working as an IFMGA/AMGA certified alpine, climbing, and ski guide. This path has allowed for a multitude of experiences ranging from notable ski descents in Alaska, France, and the Republic of Georgia to big wall ascents in Yosemite. Tyler’s passion for the mountains is consistently fueled when being surrounded by inspiring places and creating relationships with those with whom he is fortunate to share time in the hills.
Our guide, Tyler Jones, was top notch. He was highly experienced, knowledgeable, a patient teacher and even a decent cook. I had never been on a trip like this before and really didn’t understand what I was getting myself into when I agreed to go with my friends. Tyler went above and beyond to make sure we all had a good experience, stayed safe and enjoyed the mountains. The accommodations and food in high camp were very good. The weather, on the other hand, didn’t cooperate but we still had a blast and made good memories.

Wow! What can I say? Thank you! I never thought I’d climb again and you guys gave me the confidence and encouragement to do it again. Today’s hike was long, but the view well worth it. Thanks for sharing a part of your life with me. Thanks again.
Climbing The Grand with JHMG was one of the most incredible experiences in my already rich life. I came into the trip a bit apprehensive about the climbing and exposure, but the training and guides not only made me feel safe and confident, they also taught me skills to improve future climbing experiences. I expected crazy beautiful views and fun times and you guys delivered both along with an unexpected level of service, coaching, and camaraderie. Keep up the great work and we’ll see you on future climbing and mountaineering trips.

Excellent climb with top-notch guides. Safety was the number one consideration. Our group of four all summitted, two had no climbing experience. Highly recommend!
