About John Reese
John Reese is new to JHMG and will be teaching AIARE Avalanche classes for us out of our Whitefish location. He also works as a helicopter and backcountry ski guide with Selkirk Powder Guides outside of Sandpoint, Idaho. When not at Selkirk Powder or JHMG, he is a professor at North Idaho College, working as the head of the Criminal Justice program. John has skied numerous lines and peaks of note around North America and Europe, and is currently planning a 2021 Ski Expedition to Denali.
In his free time (summer), John runs mountain ultramarathons (Tahoe 200 most recently), adores mountain biking and rock climbing (especially long adventurous trad routes) and is an all-around lover of the outdoors.
