Hannah grew up in Chicago, IL and was introduced to rock climbing when her mom took her to a climbing gym in 8th grade. They started top-roping together at Devil’s Lake in Wisconsin and eventually branched out to other areas like the Red River Gorge in KY. Hannah graduated from Colorado College, where she fell deeply in love with the mountains and the Utah desert. As a CC student, she managed the college’s climbing gym and outdoor climbing program. Since graduating, she’s spent her seasons living in many different mountain towns, working as an outdoor educator for a variety of schools, teaching skiing, and running a fledgling art company. Hannah is a total nerd when it comes to ecology and especially enjoys finding grouse along the Garnet Canyon trail.
This was my fourth guided trip up a mountain. I just did an online search to find JHMG and just got very fortunate. I did not have a good experience with the other Guide companies. Being a former Navy seal I know what it takes to move people through rough terrain most Guide companies move too fast because they are so familiar and in much better shape than the people they take up. I cannot say enough about these three people .TJ the natural leader and very confident about all his decisions made everyone believe they could make it. Mike is one of the best instructors I have met, he took his time with my kids to make them understand the intricacies of climbing. Both my son and my daughter who have never climb before were apprehensive going in but after the second day with Mike they felt much better about their safety. Mike also stayed with me going up a hill when everyone was far ahead. I have always been a slow walker but at 61 I am even slower LOL. His experience and patience was invaluable my daughter flatly said if it was not for Mike and Hannah she would not have made it up. Hannahs help with a multitude of things from picking out shoes to taping of blisters
was invaluable. I would just like to thank JHMG for an experience that will last a lifetime for myself and my kids.

I had a fantastic hiking experience. Hannah, my guide, did an outstanding job helping me on my way up to Disappointment Peak. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I had little experience utilizing ropes or with more technical Rock Scrambling, but she patiently helped me through every problem I had. My knowledge of the plants, animals, and geologic history of the area increased tenfold, and by the end of the hike, it felt like we were a team. I would wholeheartedly recommend JHMG to anyone if my experience with Hannah is anything to go by!

Wow! What can I say? Thank you! I never thought I’d climb again and you guys gave me the confidence and encouragement to do it again. Today’s hike was long, but the view well worth it. Thanks for sharing a part of your life with me. Thanks again.
Climbing The Grand with JHMG was one of the most incredible experiences in my already rich life. I came into the trip a bit apprehensive about the climbing and exposure, but the training and guides not only made me feel safe and confident, they also taught me skills to improve future climbing experiences. I expected crazy beautiful views and fun times and you guys delivered both along with an unexpected level of service, coaching, and camaraderie. Keep up the great work and we’ll see you on future climbing and mountaineering trips.

Having never rock climbed before, we were not sure what to expect. From start to finish, the experience was wonderful. JHMG was easy to deal with when booking and their emphasis on safety and professional instruction made for a great experience.
