Prepare for backcountry skiing and splitboarding in British Columbia’s Esplanade Range, with Sunrise Lodge as your home base. Pack dependable touring equipment, layers for changing winter conditions, and a few comfortable essentials for evenings at the lodge. Check the fit and condition of your equipment before arriving, and contact us well in advance if you need rentals or help choosing gear.
What’s included vs. What You Bring
The trip includes professional guiding, pre-trip planning and support, round-trip helicopter transportation between the staging area near Golden and Sunrise Lodge, four nights of accommodation, and all lodge meals, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. Bedding and pillows are provided. Bring your personal touring and avalanche rescue equipment, clothing, toiletries, towel, and other items listed below. Rental equipment can be arranged in advance and is not included in the trip price. Guests also cover travel to and from Golden, lodging before and after the trip, alcoholic beverages, insurance, and gratuities.

Packing and Helicopter Guidelines
To maximize helicopter efficiency
One duffel bag for lodge clothing and personal items.
One day pack (30–40L) used while skiing.
Wear your ski boots during helicopter transport.
Wear your helmet in the helicopter to save cargo space.
Attach ski poles to your skis.
Remove climbing skins from skis before transport.
Do not bring ski bags or snowboard bags.
Pack beverages in cans whenever possible if bringing personal alcohol.
Keep all luggage organized and clearly labeled.
