DPS Skis Partners with The Mountain Guides

Multi-year agreement brings two of the ski world’s most respected companies together.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – November 23, 2020 – DPS, creators of ski products worthy of those who live and breathe the sport, has solidified a three-year partnership with The Mountain Guides, North America’s premier guiding outfit. The newfound alliance will benefit clients, guides and product development efforts, as guided backcountry ski groups utilize DPS equipment to enjoy some of the best skiing available in the Intermountain West.

“Backcountry ski equipment can have a huge impact on your experience, especially for those who are just starting out in the sport. That is why we are so fortunate to have teamed up with DPS. Their skis are world-class, high performance, lightweight and forgiving. This allows our guides and clients to make the most of their time spent in the snow-covered mountains and cherish the experience that The Mountain Guides provides,” said Jason Dittmer, general manager for The Mountain Guides. “Whether using their lightweight skis to tour countless miles in the Tetons or ski bottomless powder in the Wasatch, we’re confident that our fleet of DPS gear will always be perfectly suited for the terrain, conditions and our clients.”

Clients of The Mountain Guides’ will have access to a robust quiver of DPS skis (treated with PHANTOM Permanent Waxless Glide), skins and poles when participating in one of the many ski adventures and courses offered in Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Montana – including two DPS Backcountry Riders Camps offered in the Teton Mountains of Wyoming and Wasatch Mountains of Utah later this winter.

DPS, which constantly strives to improve upon its award-winning products, highly values the feedback of seasoned mountain professionals when researching and developing new gear. This partnership allows the forward-thinking brand to further its product development efforts by applying the valuable insights provided by The Mountain Guides’ team over the coming years.

“Trusted partnerships sit at the heart of exploration, whether in the mountains or the product development laboratory,” said Thomas Laakso, vice president of product and operations for DPS. “Just like a skier is a lifelong student of the mountains, at DPS we’re never done learning about how to improve our products. Tapping into The Mountain Guides feedback will help us continue to refine our R&D efforts.”

With ski resorts facing COVID-19 concerns, there is widespread agreement that popular backcountry skiing locations will be busier than ever. Now is the time to reserve a spot in one of The Mountain Guides backcountry skiing and avalanche courses. Visit themountainguides.com for more information.
